Some pupils are withdrawn from lessons to improve their literacy skills. All students also follow a course in Personal, Social and Health Education with Citizenship which is integrated across the curriculum and supplemented through specific themed sessions.

In year 9 all pupils have an individual meeting with a member of the Senior Leadership Team to discuss their possible future career paths and agree their choice of subjects to be studied at KS4.
