Admissions Procedure

 

Benfield School is an Academy within Newcastle East mixed multi Academy (NEAT). Therefore, the Academy Trust is the Admissions Authority for this school and is responsible for determining the school’s admissions policy. Please refer to our policy for full details of our admissions and appeals process.

Consultation starts on Monday 5 November 2018

Consultation ends on Sunday 16 December 2018

 

Admission to Years 7 to 11

There will be 207 places available in Year 7. All applications for school places must be made on Newcastle City Council’s school application form and returned to Newcastle City Council.

Applications for Year 7 transfer places (the entry year for the school) for September 2019 must be submitted by midday on 31 October 2018. Applications for school places in other year groups or after the start of the school year can be submitted at any time.

 

Admission to Sixth Form

Current students at Benfield can apply to join the Sixth Form. Places are available for external students who did not attend the school in Year 11. All applications for school places must be made directly to the school by the date specified by the school in its literature. Application forms are available from the school.

 

Admissions Policy 2019-2020

There is a right for people to object about the policy to the Schools Adjudicator (OSA). See the Schools Adjudicator website for more information on how to do this. Objections for the admissions arrangements for 2019/20 must be made by 15 May 2018.
