Additionally Resourced Provision for students with Autistic Spectrum or Social Communication Difficulties

The Additionally Resourced Provision (Cherrywood ARP) specialises in supporting secondary age students with Autistic Spectrum/ Social Communication Difficulties. Admittance into the

ARP is strictly controlled through the Local Authority, specialist applications are made through an existing provision (school) directly to the Local Authority.

We support students who are able to access a secondary curriculum from level 3 up to A Level.

The ARP provides specialist care including – in class support, break and lunch-time supervision, after school clubs, social communication sessions, speech and language therapy, specialist educational awards and a range of sensory therapy.

The school is committed to ensuring that our students are included in our wider school community, all ARC students attend mainstream lessons.

We have an exciting specialist sport programme, students regularly compete with other schools in the region and Benfield’s recent successes include a host of medals for athletic competitions.
